利用格言的教育力量,挖掘班级德育的渗透点

当代著名教育改革家魏书生在《班主任工作》一书中曾经提到教师应发挥自己的长处。有的教师擅长唱就应发挥唱的特长，有的教师擅长写就应充分利用写的优势。英语教师普遍擅长的莫过于懂一门国际化的语言——英语。英语教师担当班主任的职责，在常规的班级管理中，应该发挥自身的优势，挖掘德育教育的多样性。作为一名英语教师兼班主任，在平时的对学生的思想教育时，我尽可能作各种尝试潜移默化地影响班级文化。格言是人类智慧的总结。在不同的教育场景运用不同的格言引导学生的思想，有可能出现意想不到的效果。例如，在布置教室时，在班会课上，在班报的首页等。在平时的教育过程中，我们班级收集了一些具有深刻教育意义的格言，现摘录一部分并分类如下：
一、 honesty诚实
1.An honest man’s the noblest work of God.------A Pope, England
诚实的人是上帝创造的杰作。-------（英）蒲柏
2.An honest man’s word is as good as his bond.诚实人的话就是契约。
二、Self-respect 自重
1.He that is ill to himself will be good to nobody.不知自爱，岂能爱人。
2.To love oneself is the beginning of a life-long romance.自爱是漫长人生浪漫史的开始。
3.Respect yourself , or no one else will respect you.人必自重，而后人重之。
三、Self-reliance 自立
1.To be himself is a man’s first duty.成为自己是一个人的第一天职。
2.Rely on yourself better than turn to others for help.求人不如求己。
3.He who wants to live a pearl-like life first should be a pearl-hunter in the ocean of life.
想要拥有珍珠般的人生首先应做一个生活于海洋中的采珠人。
四、 Self-confidence 自信

人一定要相信自己，这是成功的秘诀。（美）查理·卓别林
2.Even a small star shines in the darkness.星星再小，也会发光。
3.You yourself are the architect of the mansion of fate.命运大厦的建筑师就是你自己。
五、Temperance 自律

自我批评，就如日光、空气和水一样对我们重要。
2.Example is better than precept.身教胜过言教。
3.One loses by pride and gains by modesty.满招损，谦受益。
六、Aim立志

七、Life

八、Ideal理想

没有目标的生活，犹如航海没有指南针。

九、Virtue美德
1． Virtues are mostly contained in good habits.美德大部分包含在良好习惯内。
2． The wiser a person is, the more modest he is.越是智者，越是谦虚。
3． A good fame keeps its luster in the dark.好名声在黑暗中也会光彩照人。
十、劝学
1． Knowledge is like radiant candlelight, illuminating brightly the voyage of life. Let us plunge ourselves into the sea of knowledge.知识如同光芒四射的烛光，把人生之路照得耀眼通明，让我们投身知识的海洋。
2． Wisdom is more to be envied than riches.知识使人羡慕胜于财富。
3． An idle youth, a needy age.少壮不努力，老大徒伤悲。
我们提倡特色文化。学校要有特色，班级也应有特色，作为班级灵魂的班级文化更应有特色。班主任是班级文化的领导人，对整个集体的影响无法估量。英语教师担当班主任，应搭起中西文化的桥梁，有意识地培养学生运用各国文化精髓的理念。
